Hull has been home to Albert Draper & Son Ltd the scrap metal merchants for four generations since being first established by Albert Draper senior in 1922. Chris and Peter Draper, Directors of the company are the direct descendants of Albert.

Since it was first formed the business has carried out a recovery programme of gigantic proportions handling more than 12.3 million tonnes of metal and buying all grades of ferrous and non ferrous scrap metal to crush, reprocess and sell on to other industries for re-use. This has included anything from a bicycle to a trawler, a kettle to a steam engine.

Thanks to a programme of reinvestment in staff, equipment and facilities in recent years, this scrap metal company has gone from strength to strength and has now moved to a much larger and more accessible premises on Raven Street, just off the new Hedon Road in Hull.
